By this time the mob had disparsedánd the landing

The "EACRI HU" also landed a party (leaving urms in the boat) to protect the A.P.C. installation.

"he "KOMAILASHI" made no reply to Searchlight Signale from "SACB'LEN"G" OF "3WEHELL" and did not land.

It is reasonably certain that the Japanese Consul and " ÆDILAHASHI" had the first information of the mob. The following day the commanding uffloer informed me it

was only a mal) mob (notuully about 800).

Chinese polios were early on the scenɑ but made

no attempt to prevent the disorder and parties of China Bơ moldiers were seen to turn back on aṛpreaching the scen

of trouble.

Fo far as known at present three British and Peven Japanese establish ents were completely broken up, but no firing or person::1 violence took place.
